Top 10 most visited websites in Estonia, November 2018

International Internet technology and measurement company Gemius has published the Top of 10 most visited websites in Estonia in November 2018. All Top 10 sites show a decrease in Real Users from computers, however, the highest numerical increase in visitors from mobile devices was shown for the news portal delfi.ee.

Total statistics for all devices

 

The Top 3 from all devices, i.e., from computers, mobile phones, and tablets together, in November is as follows – in first place with 658 000 Real Users is news portal postimees.ee, followed by delfi.ee with 609 000 users, and ohtuleht.ee with 352 000 users. In fourth position with 263 000 Real Users is portal auto24.ee, however, Top 5 is closed by tv3.ee with 257 000 users from all devices in November.

Slight changes have occurred in seventh position where with 151 000 Real Users and rising by one position is portal online.ee, however, in the eight position and falling by one place is portal toidutare.ee with 149 000 users in November.

The highest increase in visitors from all platforms together was shown for the site ohtuleht.ee with +6 percent or +21 000 users, which is followed by delfi.ee with +3 or +20 000 users in November. The highest drop in visitors was shown for the site auto24.ee with-5 percent or -14 000 Real Users.

Real Users and computers

 

The most visited site from computers in November is postimees.ee with 497 000 Real Users. In second place with 461 000 users is delfi.ee. Top three is closed by the news portal ohtuleht.ee with 226 000 people. In fourth position and rising by one place is neti.ee with 171 000 Real Users, but in fifth position and dropping by one place is auto24.ee with 163 000 visitors.

All Top 10 sites have shown a decrease in Real User visits from computers in November. The highest drop was shown for the site toidutare.ee with -9 percent, however, the highest numerical drop in November was shown for deli.ee with -18 000 less Real Users from computers.

Real Users from mobile devices

 

Top three most visited sites from mobile devices are the same as from computers. Mobile devices Top data combine both mobile phone and tablet statistics. It should be noted, however, that data on mobile apps are scripted and measured for two sites, namely, delfi.ee and ohtuleht.ee. Therefore, in first place with 562 000 Real Users is postimees.ee, followed by delfi.ee with 549 000 people, and ohtuleht.ee with 294 000 users from mobile devices. In fourth position with 197 000 users is auto24.ee, but Top five is closed by tv3.ee with 178 000 Real Users from mobile phones and tablets together.

The highest increase in Real Users from mobile devices was also shown for the site sky.ee with +11 percent, however, the highest numerical increase in visitors in November was shown for the news portal delfi.ee with +39 000 users. At the same time, the highest drop in users was shown for the site auto24.ee with -7 percent or -15 000 users.

“The great results for delfi.ee from last month were the results of great journalism. The first half of the month was a bit slow on news, but the first high kick came from November’s WRC coverage. We can be proud of our WRC coverage and how we are the largest sports news site in Estonia. The month ended out with coverage related to the events at Toompea that drove huge amount of traffic to our site. We also did our yearly special “Eesti Mõjukad” which always drives huge interest in the population,” comments Head of Product Development and Analytics at Ekspress Meedia and delfi.ee representative Ivar Krustok.

 

As was announced previously, Gemius has introduced an internationally awarded data publishing method Overnight and BPS (Behavioral Panel Synthesis) in the Estonian market in order to meet ever-growing and changing internet user tendencies. Overnight and BPS methodology allows to analyze data for the previous day, week, and month. Additionally, data is available the very next day with full sociodemographic profile of Real Users, including data on site overlapping on various platforms, video, and audio players, as well as applications.

Top 10 is based on data about internet audience that is aged between 15 and 74 years of age, is from the territory of Estonian state and visit sites from computers, mobile phones, and tablets. The sites included in this top are those that participated in the gemiusAudience research in November. gemiusAudience research is based on a complex and modern methodology that allows to see the number of real persons (Real Users) within a page, rather than looking at cookies or IP addresses that do not show the number of actual persons visiting the relevant page.
