Top 10 most visited websites in Estonia, October 2018

International Internet measurement and consultancy company Gemius has published the Top of 10 most visited websites in Estonia in October 2018, which has been conducted by using the newly introduced and internationally rewarded Overnight and BPS (Behavioral Panel Synthesis) methodology. The highest increase in Real Users from all platforms was shown for the site tv3.ee.

Total statistics for all devices

The Top 3 from all devices, i.e., from computers, mobile phones, and tablets together, in October is as follows – in first place with 654 000 Real Users is news portal postimees.ee, followed by delfi.ee with 589 000 users, and ohtuleht.ee with 331 000 users. In fourth place Is portal auto24.ee with 277 000 Real Users, however, Top 5 is closed by tv3.ee with 257 000 Real Users from all devices in October.

In sixth position with 185 000 users in October is neti.ee, which is followed by toidutare.ee with 154 000 people. Online.ee takes eight position with 153 000 users, but in ninth place is kuldnebors.ee with 139 000 Real Users from all platforms. The top is closed by mail.ru which with 117 000 Real Users.

The highest increase in visitors in October was shown on the site tv3.ee with +42 000 Real Users. Consequently, the highest percentage increase of Real Users was also shown on tv3.ee with +16 percent more visitors than in the previous month. The highest drop in Real Users from all devices was shown on the site kuldnebors.ee with about -12 000 or -9 percent less visitors than previously.

“All Media Eesti focus is to grow our Online presence. Biggest boost came from Buduaar, where we are clear market leader in Women target groups. Our News short form content is growing also heavily together with our video news portal uudised.ee. In addition we launched new VOD platform TVPlay in summer that has grown significantly and TVPlay 2.0 whit new features will be launched in the beginning of new year,” comments portal tv3.ee representative and All Media Eesti AS Online Media Manager Kristjan Silvet. 

Real Users and computers

 

The most visited site from computers in October is postimees.ee with 511 000 Real Users. In second place with 479 000 users is delfi.ee. Top three is closed by the news portal ohtuleht.ee with 229 000 people. In fourth position and rising by one place is site auto24.ee with 175 000 Real Users, however Top 5 is closed by neti.ee with 175 000 Real Users. Additionally, site mail.ru should be noted. In October it has reached 103 000 Real Users, therefore, rising by one position and taking the Top’s ninth place.

The biggest increase in Real Users from computers in October was noted for the site tv3.ee with +31 000 or +21 percent more visitors than previously. On the other hand, the highest drop in real users was shown for the sites kuldnebors.ee and toidutare.ee with -5 000 or -5 percent less Real Users for each site.

Real Users from mobile devices

 

Top three most visited sites from mobile devices are the same as from computers. Mobile devices Top data combine both mobile phone and tablet statistics. It should be noted, however, that data on mobile apps are scripted during October was measured for one site, namely, ohtuleht.ee. Therefore, in first place with 556 000 Real Users is postimees.ee, followed by delfi.ee with 510 000 people, and ohtuleht.ee with 284 000 users from mobile devices. In fourth position with 212 000 users is auto24.ee, but Top five is closed by tv3.ee with 184 000 Real Users from mobile phones and tablets together.

The seventh, eighth, and ninth positions for the mobile device Top are slightly altered if compared to the previous month. In seventh position and rising by two places is sky.ee with 73 000 Real Users. In eight and dropping by one place is the site kuldnebors.ee with 64 000 visitors. However, in ninth position and dropping by two places is online.ee with 64 000 people.

The highest increase in Real Users from mobile devices was also shown for the site tv3.ee with +35 000 or +19 percent more visitors, as well as for the site sku.ee with +10 000 or +14 percent more Users in October. At the same time, the highest drop in Real Users was shown for the site kuldnebors.ee with -5 000 or -8 percent less people than previously, as well as for the news site delfi.ee with -6 000 or -1 percent less than in September.

 

As was announced previously, Gemius has introduced an internationally awarded data publishing method Overnight and BPS (Behavioral Panel Synthesis) in the Estonian market in order to meet ever-growing and changing internet user tendencies. Overnight and BPS methodology allows to analyze data for the previous day, week, and month. Additionally, data is available the very next day with full sociodemographic profile of Real Users, including data on site overlapping on various platforms, video, and audio players, as well as applications.

Top 10 is based on data about internet audience that is aged between 15 and 74 years of age, is from the territory of Estonian state and visit sites from computers, mobile phones, and tablets. The sites included in this top are those that participated in the gemiusAudience research in October. gemiusAudience research is based on a complex and modern methodology that allows to see the number of real persons (Real Users) within a page, rather than looking at cookies or IP addresses that do not show the number of actual persons visiting the relevant page.
